Our premier window vendor is North Star Windows, a Canadian company that sources its own raw materials to ensure efficiency and longevity tailored to Canada’s weather extremes. They are available from all Alf Curtis locations with some stock on hand; due to sizing and custom options available, special orders are common.
When purchasing windows, you’ll have a lot to consider:
- Efficiency— There are several choices in coatings, gases, panes and other treatments to optimize your windows for specific conditions such as heat, cold and reflectivity.
- Ease of operation— Ease of opening and closing, screen removal and cleaning — they can even be made with self-cleaning glass.
- Budget— Every project’s needs and budget are different, and there are many options both with the windows themselves and the scope of the project.
- Esthetics— You’ll have many styles, materials, coatings and colours to choose from to best match your existing structure and windows that don’t yet need replacement.
- Noise reduction— Windows can play a key part in keeping your home quiet by muffling sound from outside.
